La Crema may be a California winemaker you are familiar with, but have you met their Russian River Valley Chardonnay?
It is next to impossible to get a great bottle from the Russian River Valley without costing yourself a limb (at minimum, a finger or toe.)
Rule? Allow me to introduce you to Exception.
La Crema was edging into “household name” territory for a while, with their Napa Valley Chard and inexpensive white wines and red blends from Monterey and Sonoma, for example.) However, in the last few years their name has forsaken the “Kendall Jackson” route in lieu of a more couture, niché demographic.
More power to La Crema, especially as their *under construction* website is promising, highlighting favorable vintages and varietals from years past as well as today.
