Bent Juice

Posted by Cranberry Liquors Best_New_Products, Craft Beer, Cranberry_Liquors, Drinking Beer No Comments

It seems like the holiday season comes up like a getaway driver trying to make a deadline.

We’re here to help. Let’s talk politics and then maybe start Christmas shopping.

We’re here to help. Let’s talk brewskis and watch the game.

Sluice (rhymes with loose) Juice.

You’re probably wondering what’s good for new beers. If you haven’t tried them yet, Bent Water – a brewery out of Lynn, MA – has made some reportedly [link to reviews affirming this ] great beer, albeit some very strange name choices.
But names are weird anyway and we’ve got a game to watch, so back to the matter at hand.

What’s on Tap

SLUICE JUICE
NEW ENGLAND IPA
ABV: 6.2%
WITH AROMATICS OF ORANGE, TANGERINE
AND LIME PEEL, SLUICE JUICE IS OUR JUICY,
HAZY AND SMOOTH NEW ENGLAND IPA.

It’s called Bent Water Sluice. And at $14.99 and 9% alcohol, if you enjoy a good IPA, this crafty beer is a no-brainer.Sluice_juice

The Double Thunder Funk

$15.80 (plus deposit)

When you succeed with an IPA called Thunder Funk, the next thing you do is deliver a Double IPA called Double Thunder Funk.

From their website:

DOUBLE IPA
ABV: 9.2%
DOUBLE THUNDER FUNK IS THE BIG, BAD
SIBLING OF OUR BEST SELLING BEER, THUNDER
FUNK.

TO MAKE IT, WE TOOK OUR ORIGINAL
THUNDER FUNK RECIPE AND MADE
 EVERYTHING BIGGER: MORE GRAIN AND
MORE HOPS, RESULTING IN MORE POWER
AND MORE FLAVOR. DESPITE CLOCKING
IN AT 9.2% ABV, THIS MONSTER IPA
IS SURPRISINGLY SUBTLE IN ITS STRENGTH
YET DELIVERS INTENSE
HOP AROMA AND FLAVOR.

What Else Do we Have?

Boris 6 pack $12.99
Goat 4 pack, 16 oz $11.99
Pearl  4 pack, 16 oz $11.25
Premium Lager: 4 pack, 16 oz $10.99

Another super cool, wicked popular IPA is the Suborbital. We sell the 4 pk, 16 oz for $12.99.

suborbital_beer4 pk 16 oz: $16.99 –

You can read all about their beers and their brewery by clicking here.

As we mentioned earlier, times are strange. There’s no better than time than in these strange days [indeed] to get down with some strange brew.

Next post: We’ve got you covered this Thanksgiving. Trust us on this one.

See you around town!

The Savings Continue…

Posted by Cranberry Liquors Craft Beer, Cranberry_Liquors, Cranberry_Liquors_Promotion, Drinking Beer, Event, Featured, Tasting Wine No Comments

If there’s one great thing about Cape Cod, I’d bank on our community.

Cape Codders have this uncanny common thread as an island. Plus, considering this time of year? Well, let’s just say that people are not clamoring over Sagamore Bridge right now with a 5 mile backup.

Maybe you can also relate to this feeling, like we’ve finally hit the groundhog-snuffed, 6 more weeks months of winter mark.

At this indelible point between half-way over and never-ending, Cranberry Liquor’s is feeling it to0…

So we’re taking matters into our own hands!

If you were on Facebook this morning, C.Liquor’s promised more details on how much we love you.

This was a little bit because we realized we had only two days left to get as many votes as possible to remain champions of Cape Cod Life’s “Best Of Cape Cod” Award.

Nevertheless, Cranberry Liquors does love our customers, so much so that, upon using common sense, we realized the last day of February is on a Thursday.

As if it couldn’t be any more obnoxious, February ends the day before payday.

This means that, although our Craft Beer drinkers will be happy (see further down in post), our Winter Wine Sale attendees may not be able to make the most of the savings.

It was for this reason that Joe decided to extend the sale through the first weekend of March. If you have no idea what sale I am referring to, please feel free to read this.

#celebrategoodtimescomeon

What’s more, the ides of March still curry favor with our craftiest of beer drinkers. The mix-a-six shelf? All those beers will be 20% off throughout the month of March.

Cranberry Liquors NEEDS your help! Please feel free to skip every page until “Lower Cape – Best Liquor Store,” where you can copy and paste these two words: Cranberry Liquors [link to Cape Cod Life Best Of 2019 Survey Monkey.]

Without taking any more of your precious time, C.Liquor’s hopes you will:

1. Take the Cape Cod Life survey here and vote for us! Lower Cape, Best Liquor Store: (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2019-best-of-survey)

2. Take advantage of some major savings, as the Winter Wine Sale has been extended through until the end of this weekend (because we work hard for the money too, dammit!)

3. Get your craft down to C.Liquor’s all March and expect to save 20% on your craft beer purchase from big singles display. (while supplies last, of course.)

As we said before, we love our customers. We love our community and want to show our camaraderie through our least favorite months. Thank you for showing us love back by taking this survey and making us champions (no whammy, no whammy, no whammy!)

We can’t wait to see you this weekend!!!

XOXOXO,

C.Liquors

Autumn – Cape Cod’s Favorite Season

Posted by Cranberry Liquors About Us, Around Town, Craft Beer, Tasting Wine No Comments

2018 was quite the summer on Cape Cod.

With a new structure casting shadows on our building, Cranberry Liquors wants to:

  1. Thank our patient and awesome customers through this parking lot remodel.
  2. Mention that we muscled through what was a weird summer. Our deliveries being redirected. Yes, the sidewalk was in shambles two days ago, and it was almost our breaking point. Thankfully, the awesome crew that was working that job put our sidewalk back together that same afternoon.
  3.  Also, thankfully, our parking hasn’t taken a hit.
  4. However, we fear that our customers might not know that we have two entrances to our store (we have a front entrance and a “backtrance” directly opposite the front door around the building!)
The backtrance:
Back_door_Cranberry_Liquors

This is the backtrance of Cranberry Liquors

We are SO READY to be back to normal!

When the dust finally settles on the parking lot, we get the feeling that all of Harwich Port will breathe a huge, collective sigh of relief.

So, whether you are looking forward to forty hour weeks instead of fifty plus hour weeks or you are just happy that school is back in session, we’re happy you’re here to enjoy some of the most glorious days that nature has to offer us on this little island.

Weekend | C.Liquor’s Columbus Day Hours

columbusday_liquor_store_hours

Stop by this weekend and say hello!

We’ll be open, just like normal 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Monday, October 8th, 2018 a.k.a. Columbus Day.

We will be also doing a wine tasting tomorrow afternoon from 1:00- 6:00 PM (stay tuned for updates here!) Costumes are not mandatory, but always welcome (it is October…)

Just a Reminder…

No matter what time of year it is – spring, summer, fall or winter…

Cranberry Liquors offers a discount of ten percent on six bottles of any (750ml/normal sized) bottles of wine.

If you want to mix a case of your favorite wine, Cranberry Liquors continues to offer 20% on a mixed case. It’s not a secret, but not everyone knows about it.

Does this include every wine?! Yes, with very few exceptions (less than 2% of our product being very, very few fine wine/limited quantity items.)

Feel free to call and ask about discounts, pricing or availability. We are definitely still attending weddings on Cape Cod and offer free delivery whenever we can coordinate with you (the more notice the better, but it’s not always necessary.)

Cranberry Liquors is proud to be The Spirit of Harwich Port. We love our patrons (even the ones who aren’t online or on Facebook!)

Tag us @CranberryLiquors if you think you can out-photo this awesome cranberry shot (taken by my dad, Joe :])

If this doesn’t shout Autumn on Cape Cod to you, show us up and tag us @CranberryLiquors – Bank Street Bog, Harwich Port

We’d love to see your best autumnal photos… who knows, lets go viral!

Give us a shout in the comments if you’ve got any general questions, comments, gripes or remarks. Or, shoot us an email by clicking here (cranberryliquors@comcast.net)

Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you soon! Enjoy the beautiful season, Cape Cod!

Peace and Love,

Cranberry Liquors: Your All Weather Liquor Store

Pick Your Poison

Summertime (at least this year) is arriving in fits and starts on Cape Cod.

Usually by now, folks are racing to the beach to escape the heat and humidity. This year so far, not so much.

Because Cape Cod weather can be so unpredictable, we want to assure you of one thing: Cranberry Liquors is your all-weather liquor store.

Plan your purchase to match the current or forecast weather. Rain or shine, hot or cold, dry or humid, we’ve got you covered.

Cooler Weather

Whether it’s a rainy day or an evening when temps get down to 70 (or lower), Switch it up from typical summertime cocktails to any of the following:

Beer

Stop by and browse our Craft Beer Library. Hundreds of local, regional and far-away made Craft Beers. So many, you may want to take one of those rainy afternoons and browse our selections.

Wine

On a cooler, rainier day, you might be eating your favorite comfort food. We suggest spending as much time as possible in Cranberry Liquors determining how to spend your evening.

Jokes aside, C.Liquor’s prides our extensive wine knowledge and selection.

Either Way, Cranberry Liquors has the perfect red or white to pair.

Cocktails

Dark and Stormy’s of course! Ever heard of it? (click for more info –  it’s actually pretty fascinating…)

Or maybe a classic Martini or Manhattan.

Or maybe you’re a purist and want a nice scotch or bourbon, neat or on the rocks.

Other: Don’t forget the after-dinner drinks! Nothing crazy, just a little sumpin’-sumpin’ to aid your digestion (hence the name: digestif. See what they did there?)

Tell us what your drinking (on those darker, stormier days) in the comments below!

Mother’s Day – Not Just Rosés

Posted by Cranberry Liquors About Us, Best_New_Wine, Craft Beer, Drinking Beer, Featured, Seasonal Beer, Tasting Wine, Wine on trend, Wines for Occasion No Comments

Do we write a Mother’s Day post every year?

No, only the important years. And this year happens to be an important one! Why, you might ask?

Because of the way the holidays stacked up, from Easter to Cinco De Mayo, and the fact that they cancelled spring this year, we’re pretty sure everyone needs a restful, seriously excellent weekend.

Without further ado, we’ve got Mother’s Day ideas for the mom who likes her pink wine, to the mom who likes her margarita with triple sec and extra salt.

2018 Wines for Mom

Other than for you to move out of her basement, what does your mom really want?

Rosés are still it, guys.

Things to know:

Do they like:

– dry or sweet (white or pink) wine?

– Domestic or Imported (California or French / Spanish / Italian?)

Hint: Raid her cabinet (or her Pinterest board) to see what she’s been into.

These are the wines Cranberry Liquors is betting our beer money on this year.

New Rosé 2018

The Mirabeau – (not to be confused with the Miraval rosé), this award winning rosé from rosé land (Provence, France,) this is a well priced, award winning wine. You can read more here (or just read the blog and come visit us at Cranberry Liquors.)

AIX – a french wine also from AIX/ Aix en Provence. Another award winner from that dominion/region in France that seems to churn out the best pink wine there is.

Read about the AIX here – I’m looking forward to this wine in particular.

Both the AIX and the Mirabeau retail at $17.99.

aix-rose-en-provence
Contenders also include Dark Horse (a California/ domestic), the Mimi and the Apothic Rosé. We carried these wines last year, but prices have come down a bit on these.

Apothic Rosé: $11.99

“Apothic Rosé 2017 features vibrant flavors of strawberry with a hint of raspberry. With a great balance between sweet and sour notes, this wine fully delivers on the profile of Provençal-style Rosés. With a refreshing yet creamy finish, this wine is light in style but dark in nature.”

dark_horse_rose

Dark Horse: $9.99

Mimi: $15.99

Tasting notes on this popular wine

“Cinsaut – Grenache – Syrah is a blend of grape varieties commonly grown and blended in southern France. This classic combination is used most commonly to make Provence‘s famous rosé wines, which display crisp, aromatic flavors of berryfruit and spice. The blend is also used to make some red wines, particularly in the appellations of the southern Rhone Valley and in the Languedoc-Roussillon area.”

Do a little shopping, buy something for mom too…

Not bad for Mom’s big day…

And if your mom will go for a beer or a glass of pink stuff, can we highly recommend the Angry Orchard Rose? Honestly, when this cider came out I was pretty confident it wouldn’t sell (thankfully, I don’t do the ordering.)

I was wrong!  Angry Orchard made pink sparkly, light and inspired by “Amour Rouge” apples and that pink thing everyone is doing. At $9.50 a six pack, (plus bottle deposit) you’ve got six chances to make mom very, very happy.

For Moms Who Like Beer

ANGRY-ORCHARD-ROSE

We don’t play into stereotypes so we’ll just say this: Moms love beer. All kinds.

A personal favorite (over 5 years and still going strong!) is the Lambic Framboise Raspberry Beer. I remember the first time I had it the man who suggested it (Hi Adam!) said

“It’s just raspberry and hops. That’s it!” And it’s wicked, wicked good.

schofferhofer-grapefruit-The other beer that’s great for warmer spring days is the Schofferhofer grapefruit beer. My favorite anecdote about this beer is the time the two 7 foot tall German guys came in speaking as much English as I do Spanish, telling me “this beer is most popular in Germany.” They walked out with the two and a half cases we had in stock.

Grapefruit-y, light effervescent beer that isn’t played out like Corona? Yes please.

Plus, just like the mixed case discounts we offer, mix-a-six pack of craft singles and continue to save ten percent!

Ideas for Mom who Shops

Two Words: Gift. Card. Cranberry Liquors Gift Cards

Make an afternoon of it with your dear little mama.

Buying a C.Liquors gift card makes for three excellent solutions:

– The mom who is seemingly indifferent to “stuff” (hint: if she shops at X-mas Tree Shop, this is not your mom.)

– The mom who prefers “the experience” to the “stuff” (a la’ those commercials for a Groupon app.)

– The mom who is never happy with what you get her

– The mom you have nothing to do with.

Plus, get her a gift card and she can buy her extra super fancy liqueur and neither of you has to feel guilty! You can put $25 toward her 100 year  cognac /Grand Marnier Cuvée du Centenaire (it happens all the time.)

Mom doesn’t drink

Hmm, wish I could help you but… kidding! Come by Cranberry Liquors, give us the scoop, and we’ll have a great suggestion for you. There are plenty of people in Harwich Port who know exactly what your mom wants (they probably know your mom if you’re from here too…)

Note: C.Liquors offers gift bags and other items to make it look like you put all the effort into making their present presentable!

Yellow Tag Promotion

Posted by Cranberry Liquors About Us, Around Town, Craft Beer, Cranberry_Liquors_Promotion, Featured, Tasting Wine No Comments

Cape Cod has some pretty wonderful moments this time of year. While some switch their rose for cabernet, others are hitting the beach like it’s early May.

Whether it’s red, white or pink in your glass, Cranberry Liquors would like to make known another very important color in our store…
Cranberry_Liquors_Yellow_Tag_promotion

See this color? If you can’t, it’s a pretty loud yellow tag emblazoned upon an excellent red wine.

Our “Yellow Tag” wines are an indicator of three things.

1. It’s a great wine

2. It’s an even greater price

3. These wines are in beta mode.

So, what’s the deal? As your local liquor store, C.Liquors listens to our customers, our distributors and our palettes. however we don’t always listen to the groaning shelves in our store. Often times our eyes (and ideas) are bigger than our displays and floor space.

Rather than sell the same boring things, we decided to make room in the most mutually beneficial way possible. We Yellow Tag wines at an unreasonably good price and we get to buy more of the new, cool, trending and otherwise desirable stuff!

So What About Beta Mode?

Perhaps one of the coolest things about our Yellow Tag wines is our ability to see what we intend to restock. For example, if a customer buys the esoteric Australian wine we have tagged this week, and then buys the rest the following day, we may just be special ordering that wine for them.

Similarly, these yellow tags have started many engaging conversations with our loyal customers. Even if it were possible, it isn’t a great idea for us to try every product in our store. Furthermore, we would need the memory capacity of a superhero, not to mention perfect recall to properly account for our vast selection.

In other words, we need your opinions, palettes, suggestions and remarks to keep what you want on our shelves!

To review, these yellow tags are an indicator of:

  •  Great wine
  • Uncommon wine (it won’t be Kendall Jackson, folks…)
  • A price so good that my mom doesn’t know about this promotion (sorry Joe…hi mom)!
  • An invitation to flaunt your knowledge to your favorite CLiquor store clerk.

Keep us in the loop! We hope you are loving this incredible time of year as much as we are.

PS: You’ll find our Yellow Tags on premium spirits and craft beers too! There’s something for everyone at Cranberry Liquors.

Toasting the Local Spirits: Cape Cod Beer and First Crush Winery

Posted by Cranberry Liquors About Us, Around Town, Blends, Craft Beer, Drinking Beer, Featured, Local Spirits, Seasonal Beer, Tasting Wine No Comments

If you haven’t noticed already, there are a few celebrated local companies that have helped keep Cape Cod in the proverbial loop.

Craft beer lovers everywhere rave about Cape Cod Beer, a brewery smack dab in the middle of Hyannis. Cranberry Liquors’ staff remembers when people would see a few guys cruising around, hand delivering their growlers of Cape Cod Red. Since then, an IPA, Amber Ale and Beach Blonde, as well as several limited edition and seasonal beers have been added to their selection.

Oh… and they’ve outgrown their growlers (but they are still available on tap!)

Cape-cod-beer-localCape Cod Beer will be doing what they do best this Toast of Harwich; actively supporting their community with time and product. The people at Cape Cod Beer continue to succeed with their innovative beers and events (does anyone else have a ‘Race to the Pint’ sign in their front yard?)

One visit to their website and you’ll understand… with these guys “It’s All About the Beer” …and being good to the Cape that’s been so happy to have them.
Find out more about Cape Cod Beer’s and what they are up to this month by clicking here.

A little bit newer to the scene, rapidly winning over locals and visitors alike is First Crush Winery. When Cranberry Liquors first came into contact with First Crush Winery, we knew that this Harwich native was onto something great. Dr. Frank D. Puzio, formerly known for his optometry business, began importing grapes from his friends in Northern California, and First Crush’s excellent product started winning awards soon after.

During Cranberry Liquors’ first summers carrying First Crush we had a hard time keeping their wines on the shelf! Curious locals and visitors looking for something local alike swooped up whatever Sauvignon Blancs, Red blends and “Cape Cod cranberry” infirst-crush-wineryfused wines we carry. Fortunately for us, Dr. Puzio’s winery is only a few miles from our store on Main St Extension in Harwich.

Read all about First Crush’s award winning wines by clicking here.

First Crush Winery and Cape Cod Beer will be pouring at Mooncussers Inn and Tavern this Toast of Harwich. Both the brewery and the winery will be donating to the silent auction, and tasting their local products.

Remember: Mooncusser’s Inn and Tavern is where the V.I.P. reception and silent auction will be held this year! Read more about the event and get your tickets here today!
